Rio Dulce Explored

You will be leaving Livingston at 9:30am to visit the canyon of the Río Dulce.

Here, we take in the cave of the cow, the painted wall and visit the Río Tatin, stopping at the project Ak Tenamit and at agua caliente for those that want to swim.

Then we continue to the lagoon at El Jardín, a small path where the boat passes slowly so that you can see the mangroves and flowers. We continue to two small islands where you can see different types of birds.

Next we got to the Biotopo del Chocon Machacas (manatee wildlife reserve) where we will stop for about 45-60 minutes. We continue to the castle of San Felipe before returning to the village at Río Dulce.

Entrance fees to the Biotopo (Q20) and the Castle at San Felipe (Q10) are not included. The tour does not include lunch. The stop at Biotopo Chocón Machacas is made only when the tour is private and it is specifically asked for, as the park at Chocón offers a similar experience as the other places we visit on the tour.
