Post classic Mayan ruins, with temples, ball court and a small museum. In the department of Huehuetenango, the Wild West of Guatemala we will visit theruins in the Guatemala Highlands + remain and fossils of prehistoric fauna on the site of Chivacave paleontological site. We will visit the Central Park and surrounding buildings in Huehuetenango. Then the tour continues with a visit to the paleontological site where you will find the Mastodon and other important fossils from Paleo-Indian period as well visiting the archaeological site Zacalue. The last town we will visit is Chiantla. This is a small lovely town with a graceful square and cathedral nearby Huehuetenango where you can visit the handicraft shops with leather and bronze products and the church’s silver Virgin Mary, which dates from the early 17 Century.
